Ok everyone, just gotta put it out there, the lag complaints have got to stop.
It is actually quite rude and hurtful, not to mention repetitive and annoying, when you complain about lag in the chat just by saying "ugh lag" or saying that it's the server's fault.
Lag occurs for a number of reasons. It may be your internet, your computer or your connection to the server may be weak. It doesn't necessarily mean that it's the server's fault.
I'm not saying that the server doesn't lag because it does, but not to the extent that people complain about.
My staff aren't there to fix the lag, they are there to help you. They don't have access to console, they don't even have creative mode, save admins+. They can do some to fix lag but not much, purely because they don't have those permissions for obvious reasons. There are 7 people that have the ability to really go into console and take a look at what's going wrong, but you need some insight into these people's lives to understand why we can't always be at your beck and call to fix the server.
The first two are Super and myself but we are both in our final year of high school. We have a total of 26 school days left and then exams. We are very busy with study while trying to maintain a good social life. Toss in work and sport, we're busy 95% of the time.
Nikon and Jordza. Nikon manages the FTB servers primarily and Jordza is busy learning how to be an amazing air pilot.
Tomo, Sabre and Frase. They have the entirety of sky servers to look after... some issues are more important.
I'm not trying to be rude or critical because I understand everyone's frustrations. Since building things for the server is my main role, block lag can be incredibly annoying. I totally get that. What I'm asking instead is that you stop and think before you complain. If the lag is awful, all you need to do is nicely message a staff member and say "hey, im getting a lot of lag, is there any way we can fix this?"
If you do that, you will get a much better result as well as a happier staff team, who are happy to message one of us and ask for a restart or to take a look at the problem.
